Life Connections Specialized Support Services, Inc. Plans Development and Expansion of Shared Living and Services to Florida's Suncoast Region; Appoints Carmi Brown as Associate Executive Director
TAMPA, FL – October 16, 2026 – Life Connections Specialized Support Services, Inc., a leading provider of Shared Living, Therapeutic Foster Care, and behavioral health services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, today announced plans to develop and expand its Shared Living programs to Florida's Suncoast region.
Through this expansion, Life Connections will partner with the State of Florida to provide Residential Live-In services designed to foster independence, community inclusion, and long-term success for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As part of this growth initiative, Life Connections has appointed Carmi Brown as Associate Executive Director for Florida.
Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in human services, behavioral health, nonprofit leadership, and program development. Her career spans both the public and private sectors, where she has served in clinical and executive leadership roles dedicated to strengthening programs, developing high-performing teams, and improving outcomes for children, families, and communities.
Her expertise includes strategic planning, program development and implementation, organizational growth, quality and performance management, data-driven decision-making, community engagement, and continuous quality improvement. Throughout her career, Carmi has led initiatives at both local and national levels, creating systems and strategies that enhance service delivery while supporting sustainable organizational growth.
In addition to her executive leadership experience, Brown brings a strong clinical background and extensive experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her combination of clinical expertise and organizational leadership aligns closely with Life Connections' mission of delivering person-centered, community-based supports.
