LifeConnections Demonstrates Dedication to Workforce Through 2022 NADSP Membership!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

January 12, 2022

LifeConnections Specialized Support Services is becoming a member organization of the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP), which signifies its commitment to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), other employees, and people receiving services. By becoming a NADSP Member, LifeConnections is taking proactive steps to invest in staff development and allocate resources to elevate the status of DSPs, by providing the tools needed for success in their work.

“Our DSP’s are the heart of our programs and the work they do directly impacts the lives of the individuals we support” says Jennifer Cordaro, Executive Director of LifeConnections. “It’s important for us to invest in our DSP’s by establishing career ladders and professional development opportunities through training, certification and credentialing.”

LifeConnections is initiating its NADSP Membership in 2022, which will continue throughout the calendar year. LifeConnections will use NADSP Membership to advance its mission to create opportunities for individuals to live better lives through inspired professionals who are supported and trusted to be a compassionate and creative team.

“NADSP Membership is a promise by organizations to direct support professionals, that they truly understand and genuinely value the contributions of the workforce,” says Joseph Macbeth, President and Chief Executive Officer of NADSP. “As a result of this support, we’ll be able to work together to improve practice standards, promote system reform, and advance the knowledge, skills, and values of DSPs.”

LifeConnections is currently operating in six states with various programs supporting youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a collective, we strive to offer opportunities for consumers and staff to feel a sense of belonging, advancement and mastery of skills and as well as autonomy in their own journey toward self-fulfillment.

Through NADSP Membership, employees of LifeConnections will have access to a robust library of archived webinars and resources on subjects that are important to DSPs, receive e-newsletters, and networking opportunities. Along with these member benefits, LifeConnections will be featured on NADSP’s website, highlighting their dedication to the people they employ, and in turn, the people they support.
